What About the Schools?
One of the first questions I am asked by people new to the area is "what about the schools?" State licensing laws forbid me from telling you that one school or one school system is better than another. But I am glad to provide you with links to various school websites and state or independent reports.

Ridgefield
Ridgefield currently has 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and one high school with the Ridgefield Alternative High School additionally serving select grade 10-12 students. There are approximately 5,300 students in all of the schools. There is one preschool- grade 8 independent school and one preschool-grade 8 parochial school in town.

Redding
Redding is part of the Region 9 school district, sharing a high school with the town of Easton. There is one elementary school in Redding and one middle school. Joel Barlow High School, which is overseen by the Region 9 Board of education is located in Redding. There are approximately 1,100 students in the elementary and middle school and an additional 1,000 at the high school. Redding additionally participates in the Western Connecticut Academy for International Studies Elementary Magnet School located on the Western Connecticut University campus. The school provides a global perspective to students in K-grade 5.

Wilton has three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Total enrollment is approximately 4300. There are three private schools in town.
