Help for Commuters

Looking to commute from Ridgefield or Redding?

There are several alternatives whether you are commuting to Stamford, White Plains, New York City or elsewhere.

Getting to Stamford:

By car (about 45 minutes): Rt. 7 to the Merritt Parkway or I-95 provides highway access to Norwalk, Stamford and White Plains, among other cities.  There also are many state-managed roads that provide relatively easy access with reduced traffic congestion. RT 35 west to NY Rts 123 and 124 are popular options.

By train: Metro North provides daily access from the Branchville station to the New Haven line along the Connecticut coast. As of this writing parking at the station was not a significant problem.

Getting to White Plains

By car (about 45 minutes): Rt. 35 to Rt. 684. If you are in northern Ridgefield, Rt 116 will also get you to Rt 684.

By train: Metro North provides daily access along the Harlem line. Parking at the Katonah, Golden's Bridge and Purdys stations is limited and there is a long wait for monthly passes. To help commuters there is a shuttle bus which takes morning and evening commuters to and from the parking lot of the Jesse Lee Memorial Methodist Church on Main Street in Ridgefield.

Getting to New York City

By car (about 90 minutes): Routes vary depending on your final destination but you can begin by taking either Rt. 7 to I-95 or Rt. 35 to I-684.

By train: There is Metro North train access from either the Branchville station or the Katonah (NY) station. Parking at the Branchville station is generally more available but there are not as many train options.
